EDI Business Analyst

As an EDI Business Analyst you will serve as a support point of contact for communication between replenishment analysts, buyers, other internal business user groups (accounts payable, construction etc.), external trading partners, and external communications network providers. You will be responsible for advanced troubleshooting with new and existing trading partners to solve communication issues including setting up of new trading partners, testing of new/existing trading partner data maps, and monitoring of communications system status. This position also is directly involved with testing of new application software upgrades, and any added system functionality.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Identifies and troubleshoots advanced electronic business communication documents errors or application errors.
  • In conjunction with users isolates problem from symptoms, determines solution or alternatives, and takes independent action to implement a resolution.
  • Oversees and monitors new trading partner testing and makes independent decisions regarding trading partner mapping configurations.
  • Monitors and communicates recurring failures to trading partners and provides various levels of functional/semi technical support to resolve issues long term.
  • Develops reporting and analyzes data to identify areas that require additional worked based on rate of failures or other statistical data.
  • Advises senior level business associates of recurring issues and provides alternatives to provide a long term solution and improve our processes.
  • Documents and maintains all business processes for internal associates and help documents for external trading partners as required.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, IS or Retailing with a minimum of 2-4 years experience in supply chain management, IS or EDI required. Experience with replenishment management and business systems required. Thorough knowledge of supply chain management strategies and concepts required. Retail experience preferred. Experience interacting with an internal IS staff, as well as external IS staff, and external communications networks including working with and providing functional/semi technical support to trading partners that do not maintain full time Business to Business communication individuals on staff is required.
