Candidate must have experience integrating and maintaining electronic files containing healthcare data. Analyst will review data files, identify problems, resolve system errors for all EDI related transactions. The EDI Support Specialist will be detailed, process driven and production oriented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Process daily inbound eligibility files; this includes file retrieval, decryption, pre-load evaluation, upload to eligibility system, error resolution and reconciliation of all reported records;
  • Respond professionally to written and verbal inquiries from clients, administrators, and both technical and non-technical coworkers about file status, data formatting, etc.
  • Identify potential process improvements for EDI, including those necessitated by HIPAA and other regulatory entities;
  • Collaborate with other IT staff and end-users to resolve issues and improve processes;
  • Data manipulation and troubleshooting of all types of eligibility data files;
  • Document and test client requirements against system output;
  • Implementation of new clients using established protocols and resources; participate in meetings to support implementation process.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have advanced MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook skills
  • Advanced PC computer skills, including typing at 40 wpm
  • High School graduate or equivalent; bachelorís degree preferred
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Database administration is a plus;
  • Familiarity with encryption methodology and requirements;
  • Familiarity with eligibility/demographical data management.
  • Experience/knowledge writing SQL and Queries is a plus.
