Many of our traditional department stores and specialty stores now have extensive online presence. The supply chain technology developed for typical brick and mortar businesses has some application but there are additional requirements based on online purchasing, frequent reorders, consumer shipments, and returns. Often the EDI transactions must be near real time and there must be integration with order processing, and shipping systems.
